An interactive field guide that teaches CPA-firm marketers and BD pros to think — and talk — like the partners they're trying to influence.

Data flow

A build/design view, not runtime plumbing — source material in, interactive field guide out. The Claude marker sits on the shaping step and the systems it produced.

Why it exists

Built as the takeaway companion to an AAM Summit 2026 session on the business of running an accounting firm. Firm marketers are expected to drive growth but are rarely taught firm economics — utilization, realization, leverage, partner draws — the language partners actually use. The site closes that gap with a reference they can keep using after the room empties, and doubles as a lead-gen asset.

What it is

A single-file interactive site structured as a three-act arc: What Is a CPA Firm? → Service & Industry Mix → Decision-Making. Its standout is a live Profitability Calculator that converts abstract metrics into a visceral payload — e.g. “a 5% utilization drop costs $XXk per partner per year.” It also carries a 61-term searchable glossary across nine categories, a 5-tier difficulty quiz, a busy-season calendar heat map, a curated AI-prompts library, and a personalized “Next Steps” section that adapts to the reader's role — all in one self-contained HTML file.

The hard part

This one's real story is the build process, not just the runtime. It didn't start as a website — it started as a session: hours of transcripts, thinking, and research, plus an existing presentation and supporting materials. That body of work was the raw input. From there it was shaped, step by step, into a searchable, interactive field guide — the content is AI-generated, but the harder and more interesting work was turning a pile of source material into a structured, navigable site with a calculator, a quiz, a glossary, and role-based personalization, all in one file with no backend.

vibe-coded with ClaudeA whole firm-economics curriculum — calculator, quiz, glossary, and a conversion funnel — shipped as one HTML file with no backend to babysit.
